

3. Functional performance characteristics
3.1 Reliability indicators
3.1.1 The cocks belong to products of specific purpose (PSP), type I, repairable, according to GOST 27.003.
3.1.2 The probability of failure-free operation of the cocks during the warranty service life shall be at least 0.9.
3.1.3 The average total service life of the cocks shall be at least 20 years.
3.1.4 Failure criteria:
-
loss of tightness in the shut-off element;
-
loss of tightness at the joints.
3.1.5 The limiting state criteria of the cocks are:
-
appearance of cracks in the cock body;
-
complete loss of tightness;
-
jamming of moving parts.
3.1.6 Repair and post-repair testing of the cocks shall be carried out in accordance with instruction TsV-TsL-0013.
3.2 Ergonomics and design
The ergonomics and design of the cocks, which determine compositional integrity, informational expressiveness and rationality of form, shall comply with the requirements of DSTU 3943 and DSTU 3944.
3.3 Manufacturability
The design of the cocks is technologically suitable and allows the use of modern advanced technologies in manufacturing and repair.
3.4 Special operating conditions
Special operating condition of the cocks: the maximum permissible ambient air temperature at which the product performance is not impaired is minus 55 °C.
3.5 Production processes
In the manufacture of the cocks, technological processes are used which ensure economical use of raw materials, materials, fuel, energy and labour resources.
3.6 Design
3.6.1 The cocks consist of the following main parts:
-
body;
-
valve;
-
connector (nipple);
-
crank;
-
bush;
-
handle;
-
sealing element;
-
other parts and standard items according to the DD.
3.6.2 The cock shut-off element is of valve type.
3.6.3 Cocks 4313T and 4314BT retain operability after short-time (4 hours) exposure to a temperature of 120 °C.
3.6.4 The cocks are tight at the maximum working pressure of compressed air. Leakage of air through the shut-off element, as well as through the body material, connector and their joints, is not allowed.
3.6.5 The shut-off element of cocks 4313T and 4314BT is tight at the minimum working pressure of compressed air.
3.6.6 The parts of the cocks operating under pressure are leak-tight and strong during tests at a pressure 1.5 times higher than the maximum working pressure.
3.6.7 The connection pipe thread complies with GOST 6357, accuracy class B.
3.6.8 Metric threads comply with GOST 24705 with tolerance grades 8g and 7H according to GOST 16093.
3.6.9 On threaded surfaces, tears, dents and chipping of the thread are not allowed if they extend in depth beyond the mean diameter of the thread and have a total length of more than half a turn over the entire threaded length.
3.6.10 The roughness of machined surfaces complies with the requirements of the DD.
3.6.11 Before assembly, all cock parts shall be cleaned; their surfaces shall have no traces of preservation compounds, wiping materials, moisture or contamination.
3.6.12 On the surfaces of cock parts after machining, and on unmachined surfaces of forgings and stampings, no cracks, hairline cracks or chips are allowed.
3.6.13 The force at the end of the handle when switching cocks 4313T and 4314BT under pressure (0.6 ± 0.02) MPa [(6.0 ± 0.2) kgf/cm²] shall be within 10 to 20 kg.
3.7 Requirements for coatings
3.7.1 Unmachined external surfaces of the body, connector, locknut and handle made of ferrous metals shall have a protective paint-and-lacquer coating that complies with class VII according to GOST 9.032. The colour and grade of the coating shall comply with the DD.
By agreement with the customer, supply of the cocks in primed condition is allowed.
Operating conditions of the coating shall comply with GOST 9.104.
3.7.2 The rubbing and machined surfaces shall be lubricated with the oil specified in the DD.
3.7.3 Surface preparation for coating shall comply with GOST 9.402 and GOST 9.301.
4. Requirements for materials and purchased products
4.1 The materials used in the manufacture of the cocks comply with the requirements of current regulatory documents (RD) and these TS.
The quality of the materials is confirmed by certificates of conformity (quality certificates) of the material manufacturers.
In the absence of accompanying documentation, the quality of the materials is confirmed by analysis (tests) performed by the plant laboratory.
4.2 The body and connector are made of grey cast iron of grade not lower than SCH18 in accordance with GOST 1412. Manufacture of the connector from high-strength cast iron of grade VCh 400-15 according to DSTU 3925 (GOST 7293) is allowed.
By agreement with the customer, manufacture of the body and connector from other materials is allowed, provided their mechanical properties are not inferior to those specified above.
The dimensional and mass deviations of castings shall be not coarser than accuracy grade 9 for casting dimensions and mass; machining allowances shall comply with allowance series 3 and the recommendations of GOST 26645, unless otherwise specified in the drawings.
Dimensional deviations “across flats” for unmachined hexagonal surfaces shall comply with GOST 6527.
Draft angles shall comply with GOST 3212.
Technical requirements for iron castings shall comply with GOST 26358.
4.3 The valve, crank and bush are made of quality carbon structural steel according to GOST 1050.
4.4 The handle is made of malleable cast iron grade KCh 30-6-F GOST 1215, high-strength cast iron grade VCh 350-22 DSTU 3925 (GOST 7293), aluminium alloy AK7 GOST 1583, or steels 15LK20, 20LK20, 25LK20 or 20GLK25 GOST 977 by casting.
Manufacture of the handle from ordinary-quality carbon steel according to DSTU 2651 (GOST 380) by welding is permitted.
4.5 The sealing element for cocks 4304T is manufactured in accordance with GOST 38, and for cocks 4313T and 4314BT – according to the DD.
4.6 Standard fasteners specified in the DD comply with the requirements of current RD.
4.7 Materials of parts not specified in these TS shall comply with the requirements of the DD.
5. Marking
5.1 Marking of the cocks complies with GOST 26828, the DD and these TS.
5.2 The following marking symbols shall be cast or stamped on each cock in accordance with the drawing requirements:
-
trade mark of the manufacturer;
-
designation of the cock;
-
month and last two digits of the year of manufacture;
-
TCD (Technical Control Department) stamp.
5.3 The marking shall remain legible throughout the entire service life of the cock.
5.4 The national conformity mark according to DSTU 2296 (for certified products) is entered in the data sheet (passport).
5.5 Transport marking shall comply with GOST 14192 and DSTU ISO 780.
6. Packaging
6.1 Packaging of the cocks complies with category KU-1 for transport conditions C according to GOST 23170. In this case, damage to the cocks during transportation and storage shall be excluded.
6.2 The external connection thread is preserved (protected) against corrosion in accordance with GOST 9.014.
Product group II, temporary protection variant V3-4, guaranteed storage period without re-preservation is one year from the date of manufacture.
6.3 The connection openings of the cocks shall be closed with plugs, or each cock shall be wrapped in moisture-proof paper according to GOST 8828 or in paraffin paper according to GOST 9569. In this case, plugs are not inserted into the openings.
6.4 By agreement with the customer, the cocks may be packed in boxes manufactured in accordance with GOST 2991.
6.5 The accompanying documentation for the shipped products shall be packed in a bag made of polyethylene film according to GOST 10354 and handed over to the customer.
7. Completeness
7.1 The delivery set includes:
-
end cock complete in accordance with specification 4314BT.00.000;
-
data sheet (passport) (for a batch of products);
-
quality certificate (for a batch of products);
-
copy of the certificate of conformity (for a batch of products, upon customer’s request).
7.2 The data sheet (passport) is drawn up and issued in accordance with GOST 2.105 and DSTU GOST 2.601.
