3. Functional Performance Indicators

3.1. Reliability Indicators

3.1.1. Mean time to failure during the warranty period — 120,000 braking cycles.

3.1.2. Failure criteria:

  • loss of tightness;

  • breakage of hose parts;

  • loss of strength of the rubber hose according to TU U 22.1-40478106-005:2019.

3.1.3. Warranty service life of hoses — 5 years from the date of commissioning.
Upon expiration of the warranty period, hose operation must be discontinued.
Further use may be allowed only after technical condition inspection.

3.1.4. Hoses must remain operational at ambient temperatures from –60 °C to +60 °C, and short-term (up to 4 hours) at +80 °C.

3.1.5. Hoses must be airtight at compressed air pressure 1.0 + 0.1 MPa.

3.1.6. Hoses must withstand a hydraulic pressure of 2.0 + 0.1 MPa.

3.1.7. Maximum tensile force without compressed air pressure must not exceed 800 N (81.5 kgf).

3.2. Coating Requirements

3.2.1. Unmachined surfaces of metal hose parts must be protected with coatings according to applicable standards.

3.2.2. Appearance of coatings on unmachined surfaces — per applicable standard requirements.

3.2.3. Machined surfaces must have anticorrosive coating according to
DSTU ISO 12944-4:2019 (ISO 12944-5:2018, IDT).

3.2.4. Metal surfaces without anticorrosive coating must be preserved with protective grease compliant with
DSTU GOST 2593:2018 (GOST 2593-2014, IDT).

3.3. Design

3.3.1. The R17B connecting hose consists of:

  • coupling head 1a;

  • hose 35;

  • end fitting 1a;

  • clamp 49;

  • identification tag;

  • sealing ring.

3.4. Material Requirements

3.4.1. Materials used for manufacturing hose fittings must meet the following mechanical properties:

  • tensile strength, N/mm² — not less than 290;

  • elongation, % — not less than 6;

  • Brinell hardness, HB — 100–163.

3.4.2. When hose fittings are made of cast iron, the microstructure must be ferritic or ferritic-pearlitic, with a pearlite content not exceeding 60%.

3.4.3. Hose fittings may be made of ductile iron grades VCh40, VCh45 according to DSTU 3925-99.
Manufacturing of end fittings from steels 20, 30, 40, 45 per DSTU 4738:2007 / GOST 2590-2006 is permitted.

4. Marking Requirements

4.1. Each hose must bear markings including:

  • manufacturer’s identification number;

  • month and year of manufacture;

  • hose size/type;

  • QC (VТК) stamp.

4.2. Marking is applied on the tag installed under the clamp bolt nut, using stamping or engraving.

4.3. Marking must use font 5-Pr3 according to design documentation.

4.4. The QC stamp is applied to the rubber hose by stamping.

4.5. The marking method must ensure readability throughout the entire service life of the hose.

4.6. Transport marking of cargo — according to GOST 14192 and the supply contract.

5. Packaging

5.1. Before packaging, machined metal parts must be coated with protective grease.
Contact of grease with sealing elements is not considered a defect.

5.2. Hoses must be tied or packed in bundles of no more than 5 pieces.

5.3. Accompanying documentation must be prepared according to applicable regulations.

6. Completeness

6.1. The R17B connecting hose supplied as per the specification includes:

  • R17B connecting hose;

  • passport (for the batch);

  • quality certificate (for the batch);

  • copy of certificate of conformity (upon customer request).

6.2. Each batch must be accompanied by documents containing:

  • name and/or trademark of the manufacturer;

  • hose designation;

  • date of shipment;

  • quantity of hoses in the batch.

1. R17B hoses meet the requirements of DSTU GOST 2593:2018 (GOST 2593-2014, IDT) and the set of design documentation (CD) according to the R17B.000 specification.
